Default Part of religious ceremonies.

Are women in Dubai permitted to be part of the religious ceremonies that take place over there?Or they are disallowed and are supposed to be doing chores at home?

Of course they are. People have this stereotype that women are locked in the homes in arab countries. They are allowed in these religious ceremonies. In fact, according to islam, they may even be blessed for going to these ceremonies. The only difference between women and men in this matter is a lot of times it is not obligatory for women to participate, whereas for men it is.

We do not have the idea that they are locked in their homes but we have the notion that women are not given equal status in arab countries, socially as well as in religious ceremonies. If it is not so then I am more than delighted and wish that I may be wrong.

Some of what you say is right. The culture just automatically assumes positions for males and females. This is due to the culture and not the religion. According to the religion, women are allowed (sometimes encouraged) to go to religious ceremonies. The only reason to limit their presence at ceremonies is to avoid interactions with the opposite sex.

Oh yeah it is the basically the culture that set certain norms for the society to follow. These are not stated in any religion.Well it also seems to hold point that women are not supposed to interact with other men, that is why their presence in social gatherings is not encouraged. We belong to different culture, it is nice when you come across different facts and myths related to other cultures. Thanks for the info.

No problem. I can understand what you are saying. People often do not like being introduced to new cultures and get start to feel uncomfortable, but I like to appreciate their differences instead. I am glad to see you have the same attitude. This kind of attitude can help eliminate discrimination.
