I think this is the case with any major metropolis. The advance in development does take its toll on other factors, one of them being traffic. Another thing is that people seem to have less patience in these situations, so major advances in development can cause serious problems, especially if the development is unbalanced in that it is too fast, and people can't handle it and lose control over it.
Well it seems a helpful tip but what if you got to move during these hours only, then you have to get stranded here and there for a while or so.A tip may be useful at the time of layout of a city is that the road net work should be laid in such a manner that lot of approaches for most of the destinations, this distributes the traffic.
A word on driving in the rain. Rainy weather makes driving very dangerous simply because UAE residents are not used to driving in the rain and normally won't slow down. The rate of accidents is considerably higher during rainy weather.
It seems very dangerous, people if not used to drive in rain must be in real trouble during the rains, but it rains very rarely there. But people must have learnt to be cautious while driving in rainy season.
I once visited Dubai and I learned that traffic jams are very common there. One bad night we (me, and a friend who was working there) decided to go and visit some of our friends that were staying around 40 KM away from our place. So we hired a cab and were really in a very happy mood (especially me, it was after 5 or so years that I was seeing them) even though my friend doubted any traffic jams might ruin our journey.
To be frank with you, it took us exactly 3 hours to cover that 40 Kilometers distance. We had to pass through jams two times. It was my first experience being a victim of traffic jam anywhere. Even my friend, who was used to such kind of experiences there, was sick of that particular experience. But finally, we reached our destination, met our friends and enjoyed two days with them.
wow, that is tough. i really do not have patience when it comes to that. but at least that three hours of traffic jam was worth it.
