The picture that generally that is carried for this place is that though the laws are strict the crime rate is quite high and the criminals manage to get away.
I know their laws are very strict and people in Dubai really follow these laws, and I think that is their advantage compared to our country. I heard stories that you can just leave your things behind in parks of Dubai and never worry about it because people in Dubai wouldn’t mind about things that don’t belong to them. I just wish that it’s also the same case right here in our place, but for that to happen I’ll probably wait centuries for people here in our place to change. We have sufficient laws but the problem is some people don’t really care about laws.
I am not sure if crime rate in Dubai is any higher than say other metropoltiian area. I would suspect that with the highly urbanized population and rural people separated by the gulf of income disparity, most of the crimes are of the economic nature (like robberies) rather than rape or murder.
The crime rate is pretty high. Most of the time they are petty thieves that roam around and rob the tourists. So guys, be careful when you visit. I heard of people leaving their purse on a bench and turning around for a second, only to turn back and notice that its gone. But nothing too major, because the police there are very strict. They start hitting you if you get caught.

It is the true fact, this is the condition that prevails every where in the world. It seems to be a good observation that the crime over here might be mainly of robberies than of any other crime mainly because of the money matters.
Yes the crime rate is often overlooked. Anyone visiting should take note of this fact. Dubai is no exemption to crime. Quite the contrary in fact. Ask the locals and look at the way they behave with their belongings and you can tell. They don't really leave their stuff anywhere.
