What I feel that Dubai and underworld move hand in hand.I won't be able to quote the names but lot of people having criminal background hide here and lead a comfortable life.Is it another gossip or it just the truth you see......

yes its very often shown in news that how most of the criminals manage to run away and lead a very comfortable life in dubai.

Yes, they do have a strong underworld community. But to say Dubai and the underworld move hand in hand may be going too far. It is true a lot of underworld dons take refuge and conduct business from Dubai, but they still have a solid government. Its just that when mobsters go there, they manage to stay under the radar because of all their money.

I agree with ghuraba that the influence of the mobsters are exaggerated in Dubai. Dubai is probably the most advanced of all the emirates in the UAE. It is business-friendly and has a good legal system to protect property and business rights. In a way, I think Dubai is a oasis in the turbulent Middle East area and its achievements should be applauded.

This is also the reason for all those ganster movies that revolve around the underworld, that's why they are set in dubai. Especially all those bollywood movies whree they end up taking refuge in Dubai and do all their business from there. Its become a type of stereotype.
