Hi friends! I just want to know if the Dubai Government gives any special rights to foreign workers working there. Do they treat the foreign workers (any worker, a laborer or a software professional) with any respect?
It is because I recently read some bad stories in news papers like a company removing a group of Indian workers from their jobs, and some companies treating foreign workers like second grade people by not providing them good accommodation and abusing them at work.
Of course, not everything we read in news papers is true. But you won't see a fire without a spark. So I just want to know what you people think about it. Please share your opinions here in this regard.
The ill treatment you mentioned happens to many blue collar workers (especially laborers and construction workers) not only in Dubai but practically in all countries that imported such form of cheap labor. They are the poorest and unexploited underclass that deserves full protection
We get to know such horrifying woes of laborers, that even the thought leaves you aghast. In Gulf countries the conditions are too bad, I doubt if any organization stands up to save this exploited lot.
Yes this is the true picture, everyone is aware of this harsh reality.......everyone means everyone. Even then no stern steps are taken by the much acclaimed human rights organizations. This aspect needs to be dealt immediately and effectively.
Foreign workers get a lot of benefit. The government hires them because of their expertise and is willing to pay generously for it. Almost all of the time a foreign worker is hired, they are given a beautiful flat where they can stay for the duration of their work, which a lot of times is for the rest of their life or till retirement. In some cases, not usually though, I think they are also given cars.
