Arabic is the official language of Dubai, although English is widely spoken and is standard within the business community. Signs are generally written in both languages.
This is what I appreciate very much because that makes even the outsiders and tourists comfortable. The language problem is the major problem concerning any form of tourists to any country and in some countries I have personally experienced that the locals just don't interact with you because of language constraint.I think English should be a common language and be promoted in all countries besides their local language.
I had to disagree that locals have to learn English to cater to tourists. It should be the reverse and visitors should take some efforts to learn at least a few words of the local language.
Notwithstanding my views, yes, Dubai is basically billugual with most written material in Arabic and English.

well i agree with you. learning english would be better than other languages. because if all countries will create english subjects, it would be easier than trying to learn different languages, it would be very complicated. at least if everyone knows how to speak english, they don't need to learn anymore the different languages. example, if you will go to japan, china, korea, spain, germany, etc, you will still have a hard time learning those languages, but if we will make english as a universal language, it will be an advantage
