This little fishing village is the home to the oldest mosque in the UAE dating back to 1446. Made from mud brick, stone and gypsum, it is now restored with 4 small domes held up by a central pillar.
Wow that sounds really cool. I would love to visit a lot of the places mentioned on here. I think it is very interesting to see places that have been restored as you get a certain authenticity that you cannot get when you rebuild something or try to simulate it in some manner. Even in movies, when they do it with special effects, its just not the same.
It is really a beautiful sight when you reach that place, the mosque as such is so very beautiful piece of architecture and if you get a chance to have a glimpse of the surrounding from the top most tower of the mosque, you get to see palm plantation which will make you skip a beat or two.
