I did not know UAE had coral reefs and I used to live there, that is a very sad fact. It very interesting though I think I did not hear about it much mainly because I was small and people probably did not pay much attention to them. The forts in Dubai are amazing, very interesting to visit, and lots of cool stories to hear. I guess that's the case with any historical figure.
You should make a re-visit very soon now that you know there are so many places and treasures that you are not aware of or too small to comprehend. I am sure the a re-visit will be very interesting for you as well a trip down memory lane.
The best part of the trip to this place is the drive on the highway from Dubai to Fujairah, the route is so smooth, you tend to enjoy the drive thoroughly.Then at the place you get to see mosque which is frequently visited by the locals,then there are left overs of a township on the beach which attract lot of attention.
