I read in novel that gulf area was at nowhere on the charts of prosperity, till the latter half of the century,Then what was that brought so much of wealth to these countries. Is it the pearl trade in ancient times that brought about this change?

I don't know about it much. From what I understand, there were some places that were doing well, they had kings and queens, and other places just had little tribes strewn across the land. When Islam was brought down, it came along with many benefits to the people, one being that it united them and civilized them. People started expanding and connecting to other communities and the cities got more established.
