Straddling the border between the UAE and Oman, the Buraimi Oasis lies some 130 km southeast Dubai. The oasis has 2 towns side by side: Al-Ain on the Emirati side and Buraimi over the border in Oman.
The area is famed for its traditional falaj irrigation system, some dating back to 1000 BC.
Thanks for the information on the other cities. A lot of people do not even know about the other cities and just end up going to Dubai, which is way too crowded with tourists. I think a lot of people would enjoy going to the other towns as they also have plenty to see such as the historical sites. People must realize that there are other places to visit.
This is one of the most beautiful place in around Dubai. There are lot of palm farms here and artificially created lake is another attraction to this place. The irrigation system that was in use those primitive days is followed in some areas even today.
