As the culture depicts I am afraid that people over here might not be welcoming a girl baby much.Is it true as I have heard that people do go in for sex determination tests here and prefer boy to a girl.
I think this is an old issue. Not just in Arab countries but all around the world. It mainly comes from the idea that girls are harder to raise at least that's what some people think and that they cannot make money. But both of these arguements have been proven wrong and I think having a girl child is not an issue any longer. Parents are happy with the baby no matter what. Maybe I'm just an optimistic person but that's what I think.
I think that girl babies being unwelcome is more of an old Asian way of thinking. I've read that a long time ago, baby girls were so unwelcome that families might even kill them or try to get rid of them. Some Asian countries were so overcrowded that they considered it a waste to raise a girl that wouldn't even be able to carry on the family name. They prayed for boys because they were more successful.
You guys are right, but my doubt is based on the fact that this place so many restrictions are imposed on girls and women. So is it easy to upbring a daughter in this kind of atmosphere. When your daughter is going to be subjected to all do's and don't s.
