Default Converts/reverts

I was just wondering something. Dubai is considered a muslim city although it has many non muslims living in it. Due to the muslim influence all around, are there a significant number of people converting to islam. Is there ever a conscious effort to make this happen? Or are people repulsed by the religion after being directly exposed to it, which I don't think would happen except for extreme circumstances.

I don't think that in this era there is much effort being put in to try to force people to convert to Islam or for that matter any religion.Dubai to me is by far a modern state to be influencing people into any form of religion or culture. To convert is now quite an individual choice and to some extent a curiosity for a change.
