Default Golf and Dubai

Hi there,

I know golf is pretty big out in Dubai and I'm a pretty keen golfer, I play of an 18 handicap and so I'm looking for a middle of the road course, can anyone give me any suggestions of any open to the public and how much a round is etc?

Golf it self is a very royal and expensive game.In Dubai they have the world class golf clubs run by the DG.What exactly they charge from the members I am not very sure but it must be a bit higher side, because these golf clubs meet the norms set for the top golf rages of the world. You can try to gather more on the net, good luck to you.

I am not much of a golfer. In fact, I have never played golf in my life. But considering that so many wealthy people visit Dubai, and golf is a sport for wealthy people as its very expensive, I assume there are plenty of places in Dubai that cater to this crowd. I would think it would be fairly expensive. Golf is already an expensive sport, and usually places that offer services to tourists charge more because they know they are in demand.

It might be hard to keep a golf course in shape in Dubai, because of how hot it gets, but I'd guess there are at least a couple of good places to golf anyway. Most tourists love to golf when they go somewhere because it's such a relaxing sport to play. I love golfing where I live. It's like a little vacation from everday life, even though I'm horrible at the sport.

I think it is very difficult to keep a golf course in good shape for the regulars everywhere, not just in Dubai. I think another thing that may make it harder is the influx of people into the city and constantly coming in and out, as this is what tourists do. But nonetheless, their tourism industry is huge and they do take this into account.

Dubai will definitely not let the hot weather and other natural circumstances get into its way for golfing. The lawns are very well maintained but of course at price - green fees are not cheap and you have to book in advance to play during the weekend.
